Tuju-Camp - International Youth Camp 2013
As a part of the International German Gymnastics Festival within the Rhine Neckar Metropolitan Area 2013, the German Gymnastics Youth (DTJ), again, hosts an International Youth Camp (IJL).
The focus of this international, intercultural event is placed on jointly experiencing this festival. About 400 young people from all over the world will come together and actively participate within this sportive and cultural program. The shared accommodation offers sufficient opportunities to get to know each other, to learn and experience the specialties of each individual culture and to use gymnastics and sport in general, as a vital communication chance – following the slogan "Life in Motion!".
Date
Saturday, 18th of May 2013: Arrival Day
(arrival in exceptional cases possible on Friday, 17th of May)
Saturday, 25th of May 2013: Departure Day
Program
An internal IJL program, including sportive and cultural activities, as well as the participation of all events being part of the International German Gymnastics Festival 2013 is designed for all the participants.
Additionally, the participating groups should be prepared to actively help designing the IJL program themselves. That means, to present some group presentations and also to integrate their own group actively within workshop offerings, in order to jointly lead the IJL to a success for everybody.

Accommodation
The Accommodation takes place within a generous school complex of the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-School in Weinheim (near Heidelberg) which offers numerous possibilities for sport and leisure. The festival activities are easily reachable through public transport measures. The overnight stay takes place in classrooms. Inflatable mattresses, sleeping pads and sleeping bags need to be brought by each participant on his or her own responsibility.
Costs
There is no participation fee for foreign groups. However; the travel costs need to be borne by the participants themselves.
The following benefits are included:
- 7 days of accommodation and full board (breakfast, one warm dish as well as a lunch package) within the International Youth Camp
- Festival ticket valid for the International German Gymnastics Festival
- Ticket for public transport within the Rhine Neckar Metropolitan Area
- Free entrance to all event venues (except all special events which need special admission tickets)
- Free participation on all activities offered by the International Youth Camp
- Free Admission for the Tuju-Show, the Tuju-Party as well as the stadium gala
The organisation of travel arrangements need to be done by each group individually.
Participation of Associations
The allowance lies at 20 participants at the age between 14 and 25 years (age-group 1988–1999) per association including a maximum of 2 custodians. Exceptions are usually not possible. The custodians are responsible for their dedicated groups. However; due to the special goal formulation of the IJL, it is only possible to allow for groups that do NOT actively participate in competitions.
Code of Honor
The welfare of the entrusted children and adolescents is a very important matter for the German Gymnastics Youth. They shall grow up without violence and discrimination. Therefore, especially within the field of sport, they have to experience support as well as protection through those responsible.
The physical and emotional proximity that has a great potential to develop especially in sports, and which does not have a comparable significance in any other context, also contains the risk of sexual assaults. The ones responsible, therefore, absolutely have to live a culture of being and acting considerately and thoughtfully, to encourage a person affected to talk about it as well as to discourage potential perpetrators. This will create a climate that protects children, adolescents as well as adults – with and without disabilities – against
sexualized violence within the context of sport.
With the attached Code of Honor we want to sensitize about the topic and we kindly ask you for your support, by requesting all participating custodians to sign this Code of Honor.
